This growth will see users not only have access to learning materials, but also a dynamic platform with a tool set to support Climate-KICs education programme, whether online, blended or classroom based, throughout it's large network of university, business and NGO partner organisations. These tools include an LMS component that delivers of course information through our 'learning nugget' approach; activity-based learning through course-specific to-do lists; social tools for learners, teachers, experts and alumni to engage and interact; e-commerce solutions for pay-for courses; learn dashboards showing learning analytics; user-created learning pathways; peer-reviewed assignments; and more. Within the 4 year timeline of this initiative we expect user levels to be in the 100's of 1 000's. The provision of hosting is not part of this tender. The platform must at all times maintain the highest quality in all aspects: design, technology and usability for all users. The current platform is built on the Joomla framework and we envisage this continuing as we support the use of Open Source software wherever possible. This tender whilst not requiring a proposed solution to specific problems, outlines elements of our technical approach and expects you to respond with evidence as to your expertise and experience in these areas. It is likely that during this framework the scope will exceed the areas listed and a development partner is required with the skills, experience and vision to positively contribute equally to the challenges and opportunities this project brings.
