Skolen var den forste aulaskole der blev opfort i Kobenhavn.Skolen er i 4 etager inklusive hoj kaelderetage. Samlet bygningsareal er 4 350 m2 + kaelder pa 1 675 m2.Hovedskolen er overvejende opfort i rodt murvaerk. Pa bagfacaden mod nord er der mindre pabygninger i gule sten samt pudsede og malede facader. Tagene er udfort med tagpapdaekning.Katrinedals Skole ligger i den hoje ende af bevaringsvaerdiens skala, med saerligt fokus pa hovedbygningens vinduesudformning og design. Alle forslag til aendringer af bygningernes udvendige fremtraeden skal derfor forelaegges Center for Bydesign til godkendelse.Hovedpunkterne i renoveringen er:-- Renovering af facadevaegge,-- Nye vinduespartier samt renovering af vinduer. (hovedparten er renoveret),-- Efterisolering af tage samt nye tagbelaegninger og -kompletteringer,-- Etablering af et nyt ventilationsanlaeg til sikring af et godt indeklima,-- Etablering af ny elevator,-- Etablering af nye toiletter,-- Nye faskiner til tagafvanding,-- Folgearbejder i forbindelse med ovennaevnte hovedpunkter, sa som lofter, belysning, kloak og aflob.Der er foretaget en miljoanalyse pa skolen som paviser blyindhold i malinger samt asbest under gulvbelaegninger.Skolen vil vaere i drift under byggeperioden, og arbejdet skal koordineres ud fra dette. Skolen skal derfor inddrages i planlaegningen af arbejdet.Byggesagen forventes gennemfort pa 10-12 maneder, med opstart i juni 2012.Awards
