Scenarios will be developed for most cost-effective decarbonisation of H&C in member states of EU28, Norway, Switzerland and Iceland, and an aggregated description at the EU level will be provided. These scenarios will build on currently existing useful energy demand, technologies and resources. Attitudes of European citizens towards district H&C will be assessed and the factors that govern the dissemination of efficient and renewable technologies will be examined, with reference to regulatory, fiscal and socio-economic conditions. The aim of the work will be to identify the elements of an optimal system transition to net-zero emission society with minimal negative spill-overs, while making use of maximum engagement of the H&C sector.Awards
