Im Bereich FAH leben ca. 6.000 Menschen (20 % mit auslandischer Staatsangehorigkeit; 30 %-Anteil alterer Burger (60+)). Die Sporthalle ist angegliedert an die Grundschule FAH und stellt im Stadtnorden eine sogenannte Schwerpunktschule dar. Sie ist die zweitgrosste Grundschule (dreizugig) in Nordenham. An der Grundschule befand sich eine 2-Feld-Sporthalle (Baujahr 1968), die aufgrund gravierender baulicher Mangel seit 2018 gesperrt ist und in 2020 aufgrund der Einsturzgefahr (unmittelbare Nahe an den Schulhof) abgebrochen wurde. Im Jahre 2015 sind 2 umliegende Grundschulen geschlossen und deren Schulbezirke zum Grossteil in diesen Schulbezirk aufgenommen worden. Seit 2018 ist nur noch rudimentar Sportbetrieb uber Bustransfer in anderen Hallen moglich. Einstundige/spontane Sport- und Bewegungsaktionen entfallen. Im Ortsteil gibt es keine Alternativen zum Gesundheitssport, dies trifft alle Bevolkerungsschichten. Die Kapazitaten der umliegenden Sporthallen sind durch die Sportvereine erschopft.
