PIDA was adopted by African Heads of State and Government as the continental framework for regional infrastructure in 2012. The first PIDA Priority Action Plan comprises more than 400 projects in the sectors energy, transport, transboundary water management and ICT. PIDA as a continental framework is managed by 2 institutions: The Directorate for Infrastructure and Energy of the African Union Commission and the NEPAD Agency as the technical arm of the African Union. The Directorate for Infrastructure and Energy of the African Union Commission is mandated for the political steering and coordination of PIDA in liaison with the Regional Economic Communities and their Member States.Awards
