Diese Umgestaltung ist eine Massnahme des integrierten Stadtentwicklungskonzepted Ohligs. Das ISEK wurde zum Forderaufruf ,,Starke Quartiere - Starke Menschen" beim Land NRW eingereicht und Mitte 2018 durch ein positives Votum zur Umsetzung empfohlen. Die Dusseldorfer Strasse ist eine als Fussgangerzone ausgebildete Strasse. Diese Fussgangerzone mit dem Marktplatz ist aber nicht nur eine Einkaufsstrasse, sondern auch Veranstaltungsort und Aufenthalts- und Treffpunkt fur das unmittelbare Wohnumfeld. Dieser Bereich soll, mit Mitteln der Stadtebauforderung, in den kommenden Jahren zu einer barrierefreien, bespielbaren und multifunktional nutzbaren Fussgangerzone umgestaltet werden. Ein besonderer Augenmerk liegt auf dem Marktplatz, der als Mittelpunkt der Ohligser Innenstadt durch eine funktionale Freiraumgestaltung erlebbar gemacht werden soll.Awards
