Zur Manipulation der elektronischen Zustande der gemessenen Systeme muss ein 8 T Magnetfeld angelegt werden konnen. Das System muss 20 x 20 mm Proben, die auf Leiterplatten montiert sind aufnehmen konnen. Die Proben mussen bis zu 5 mm in alle Richtungen bewegt werden konnen und auf unter 2K gekuhlt werden, um Quanteneffekte in gemusterten zweidimensionalen Elektronengasen zu sehen.Um optische Ubergange und Energieniveaus in den Systemen zu manipulieren, werden gleichmassige Magnetfelder von uber 7-8 T benotigt. Fur eine variable Probenposition muss ein gleichmassiges Magnetfeld im Volumen von 5 x 5 x 10 mm3 erzeugt werden.
