Das System ist fur den Einsatz bei Patienten vorgesehen, die aufgrund einer benignen Prostata-Hyperplasie (BPH) unter Symptomen im unteren Harntrakt (Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms, LUTS) leiden. Das AquaBeam-Robotiksystem dient zur Resektion von Prostatagewebe bei minimalinvasiven chirurgischen Eingriffen. Das AquaBeam Handpiece (AquaBeam-Handstuck) und das AquaBeam Scope (AquaBeam-Endoskop) werden transurethral in die prostatische Urethra vorgeschoben. Das AquaBeam-Robotiksystem ist so konzipiert, dass als Schneidmedium ein Hochgeschwindigkeits- Wasserstrahl aus steriler Kochsalzlosung verwendet wird, der durch eine in der prostatischen Urethra positionierte Duse eingespritzt wird. Die Dusen-Baugruppe wird mittels eines anwendergesteuerten Motorsystems bewegt. Der Druck wird von einem Hochdruck-Pumpensystem erzeugt, welches uber die AquaBeam Console (AquaBeam-Konsole) gesteuert wird. Die gewunschten Flussraten sind vom Anwender manuell einstellbar. Alle Funktionen werden auf der AquaBeam Conformal Planning Unit (AquaBeam-Einheit fur die Planung der konformalen Behandlung) angezeigt. PROCEPT hat das datumsaktuell weltweit einzige autonome Robotersystem zur Entfernung von Gewebe fur die chirurgische Prostatabehandlung entwickelt und verkauft dieses Robotersystem sowie verwandte Produkte und lizenziert die zugehorige Software an Kunden.Awards
