Die Stadt Kassel hat im Jahr 1990 einen Generalverkehrsplan aufgestellt. Darauf aufbauend wurde durch den Zweckverband Raum Kassel (ZRK) ein Gesamtverkehrsplan fur das Verbandsgebiet erarbeitet, der 2003 beschlossen wurde. Der ZRK besteht aus der Stadt Kassel sowie neun umliegenden Stadten und Gemeinden. Das ZRK-Gebiet umfasst eine Flache von ca. 325 km2 mit ca. 316 000 Einwohnern, davon leben ca. 194 000 Einwohner in der Stadt Kassel auf einer Flache von ca. 107 km2. Die Leistung besteht aus 3 Teilen: Teil 1: Erstellung eines IV- und OV-Verkehrsmodells fur die Region Kassel. Teil 2: Erstellung eines Verkehrsentwicklungsplanes fur die Stadt Kassel. Teil 3: Ausweitung des Verkehrsentwicklungsplanes auf das ZRK-Gebiet. Fur Teil 2 sind folgende Kapitel vorgesehen: 2.1 Grundlagen und Ziele; 2.2 Mobilitatsstrategie; 2.3 Verkehrssicherheit; 2.4 Prognosen und Szenarien; 2.5 OPNV; 2.6 Fahrradverkehr; 2.7 Fussverkehr; 2.8 Kfz-Verkehr; 2.9 Integration von Fachplanen; 2.10 Gesamtbewertung; 2.11 Konzept zur Evaluierung des VEP.Awards
