Systems Biology Ireland is set to become a national centre for excellence in systems biology research.The combined SFI and industrial funding commitment will total 19 000 000 EUR over the next 4 years. Systems Biology Ireland will have 1 600 m2 of dedicated research and training accommodation within the Charles Institute, a planned new development due for completion in 2011 that is adjacent to UCD Conway Institute of Biomolecular & Biomedical Research and UCD Health Sciences Complex.The interdisciplinary nature of systems biology holds the promise of significant advances in science beyond the boundaries of individual disciplines. SBI will draw on expertise from distinct but complementary scientific disciplines to develop quantitative analysis and predictive modelling approaches with state of the art technology platforms for biotherapeutics.SBI wish to purchase a FLIM microscope as per the specifications set out in section E. The specification is divided into 2 lots. Lot 1 is for a top of the range inverted microscope and lot 2 is for the fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy system (FLIM). Suppliers are free to submit a proposal for either of the lots or for both lots.Awards
