The NISC project forms part of MCST's Science Popularisation Strategy which shall serve to attract more students to the sciences and ultimately in the long term have more individuals taking up Science and Technology-related careers. The Project is located within the Bighi Naval Hospital Complex. The Works are therefore to be considered as being carried out within a site of historic importance that is also an area of high archaeological importance. The NISC project is divided into multiple contracts including this tender which comprises works on the Upper and Lower parts of the Bighi Complex, another covering the civil works, M&Es and finishes of the promenade alongside the Lower Bighi Complex, a tender for the extension of an already existent parking area, and lastly tenders for the procurement of interactive exhibits. The contracts described above are intended to commence at approximately the same time. The successful tenderer shall be expected to collaborate with the necessary stakeholders such that works between the various and overlapping areas merge well according to the drawings and specifications. In all, the site will occupy a total footprint area of approx 21,000m2, with the buildings' footprint being of 4,300m2 and the surrounding external area of 16,600 m2.Awards
