In addition, the study will take into account the needs of healthcare providers when encountering these women and girls as part of their work. Concurrently, the study aims to provide information on FGM in a bid to equip policy makers with further insight on the subject matter when drafting polices related to FGM.Lot 2: Provision of a study on Violence on Older Women and Men.This qualitative study on violence and abuse of older persons aims to examine the different forms of violence and abuse that older women and men go through in Malta and Gozo in various settings (including, but not limited to older persons living in the community and older persons living in residential homes). Moreover, this study aims to tackle the factors and consequences of such violence. The research will take into account a gendered perspective in all the objectives apropos violence on older women and men. Consequently, this study will aim to shed light on the differences, contrasts and/or similarities of experiences, circumstances and needs of older women and men in relation to violence and abuse.Lot 3: Provision of a study on Violence, Harassment and Bullying in Schools.This study aims analyse the subject matter from a gender perspective in a bid to identify how different forms of violence, harassment and bullying in schools affect girls and boys. This study will include single-sex and mixed-gender schools at primary, secondary and post-secondary levels that are run by the state, the church or independently. Furthermore, this study delves in more detail on how students can go through these forms of abuse due to other grounds of discrimination, alongside their gender. An analysis of the structure that are in place to prevent or combat violence, harassment and bullying in schools will also be carried out.
