Gedurende deze midliferevisie wordt onder andere de conserveringslaag aan de buitenzijde gerenoveerd. Om de rijtuigen te beschermen tegen de schadelijke invloeden van graffiti en reinigingsmiddelen, dient de buitenzijde van het rijtuig in transparante folie gehuld te worden. Het aanbrengen van de folie geschiedt aansluitend aan het aanbrengen van de nieuwe conservering.Deze transparante folie wordt over de vernieuwde laklaag aangebracht en moet niet alleen bescherming bieden aan de onderliggende laklaag, maar moet ook het verwijderen van graffiti en vuil vereenvoudigen en versnellen. Daarnaast moet de folie de uitstraling van het materieel op langere termijn waarborgen. Naast de transparante folie aan de buitenzijde zullen ook de wandpanelen in het interieur bestickerd worden. Deze wandpanelen zullen voorzien moeten worden van bestickering met een print van het onderliggende houtmotief.
