Als locatie voor het Norbertus Gertrudis Lyceum is gekozen voor de huidige locatie van het Norbertuscollege aan de Lyceumlaan 10. In de afgelopen periode heeft de school stappen gezet naar een gedragen, gezamenlijke onderwijsvisie. Het samengaan van de beide scholen is vormgegeven als een ingroeiproces, waarbij eerst de brugklassen van beide scholen samen een cohort burgklasleerlingen van het Norbertus Gertrudis Lyceum vormden. De opgave is een onderwijsgebouw voor 1 600 leerlingen (havo en vwo) van maximaal 10 530 m2 (bvo) en een sportvoorziening voor deze leerlingen bestaande uit 4 gymzalen.
