De voorlopende overeenkomst is al verlopen. Deze inkoopbehoefte wordt gedaan in het kader van de samenwerking van het ministerie van Infrastructuur en Waterstaat, Rijkswaterstaat (RWS) en het Departementaal Coordinatiecentrum Crisisbeheersing (DCC), met overige rijksoverheid organisaties op het gebied van Netcentrisch Werken en Crisismanagement in de vervulling van haar landelijke taken. Vanwege de snelle ontwikkelingen op het terrein van de crisisbeheersing zal het NIPV in de 2e helft van 2024 een marktverkenning naar een mogelijk alternatief systeem uitvoeren. Echter om het gebruik van LCMS voor de komende jaren zeker te stellen wordt een overeenkomst aangegaan voor een periode van maximaal 5 jaar.
