FIH har i dag 6 stk telekomtrainerne og skal kjope inn 8 nye enheter.Forsvaret har til hensikt a innga kontrakt for kjop av folgende materiell med en leverandor:8 stk NI ELVIS II Hardware8 stk Emona ETT-211 Fotex-fiber optic comm trainer for NI ELVIS8 stk Emona DATEx Telecommunication board for ELVISDette er et brett hvor studentene kan koble mellom forskjellige enheter pa brettet og fa opp maleinstrumenter pa sin pc. Pa den maten kan studentene laere seg forskjellige teknologier og hva som skjer nar de gjor justeringer pa forskjellige parametere. Dette benyttes i undervisning og det er de grunnleggende prinsippene som undersokes.Som nevnt ovenfor har Forsvaret 6 slike treningsbrett i dag. I undervisningssammenheng er det avgjorende at utstyret som kjopes er lik det utstyret som FIH allerede besitter eller er tilsvarende utstyr som er fullt ut kompatibelt med eksisterende utstyr. Bakgrunnen for dette er at man ikke vil kunne gi felles opplaering ved bruk av ulik type utstyr.Forsvaret har gjennomfort markedsundersokelse og finner at anskaffelsen, som folge av tekniske arsaker, kun kan foretas hos en leverandor i markedet, jfr. Forskrift om offentlige anskaffelser SS 2-1.Awards
