Utviklingen og administrasjon av spatial informasjon er primaert handtert ved ESRI software. Rundt 10 personer har dette som hovedoppgave, mens 50-60 forskere bruker softwaren gjevnlig i sitt forskningsarbeid. NGU har idag ca. 70 forskjellige ESRI lisenser med vedlikehold og support avtale fra den norske leverandoren.NGU vil ha tilbud pa (enkeltvis/eller 'bundled'):*1 flerbruker lisens #1 of ArcGIS Server 9.3 Advanced Enterprise Edition*1 flerbruker lisens #1 of FME ESRI Edition 2008*vedlikehold og support avtale for alle eksisterende ESRI software ved NGUVedlikeholds og support avtalen ma inkludere nye versjoner av softwaren. All software installasjon er av engelsk, og support ma bli gitt i engelsk eller norsk sprak. I dag gjores mye av forste linje support av egne eksperter. Support bor fokusere pa mer heavy support knyttet til problemer knyttet til software oppdateringer og installasjoner, interaction problemer mellom software komponenter og feilbehandling. Det bor ogsa inkludere muligheten for at problemlosning blir lost ved korte kundemoter ved NGUAwards
