Die erste Etappe wurde im Jahr 2009 ausgefuhrt und fertig gestellt. Die Ausfuhrung findet bei laufendem Betrieb der anderen Ausstellungsbereiche im Haupttrakt des Museums statt. Die Arbeiten mussen im Hochparterre und im 1. OG durchgefuhrt werden. Im gleichen Areal finden parallel zur Asbestsanierung noch weitere unabhangige Demontage und Bauarbeiten statt. In der naheren Umgebung werden ab Fruhjahr 2011 auch Strassenbau- und Werkleitungsbauarbeiten durchgefuhrt. Die innerstadtische Lage des Museums fuhrt zu starken Einschrankungen des Baustellenbetriebes und des Baustellenverkehrs; diese Einschrankungen sind bei der Offertabgabe zu berucksichtigen. Es folgt keine separate Vergutung fur Behinderungen durch Verkehrseinschrankungen. Die Bauplatzinstallation wird bauseitig zur Verfugung gestellt und muss fur die drei Etappen jeweils umgestellt werden, dies kann zu leichten Terminverschiebungen in der Ausfuhrung fuhren.
