Buying entity🇬🇧 Derby City Council Buying unitnot reported Publication date2014-01-16 Contest statusnot reported DescriptionTenders are invited for the supply of services in respect of Short Breaks for disabled children and young people.Short breaks form part of a range of services that support disabled children, young people and their families and are provided to give:- disabled children and young people enjoyable experiences away from their primary carers, thereby contributing to their personal and social development and reducing social isolation;- parents and carers a necessary and valuable break from their caring responsibilities.The aim of this Service will be to provide specialist group short breaks and 1:1 support in the home and out in the community to disabled children and young people giving them opportunity to spend time away from their parents/carers so that they are able to have a break from caring.The contract will be broken into two lots. Tenderers may apply for one or both lots which are broken into the following lots:- Lot 1 - Specialist Group- Lot 2 - 1:1 support for Home Based and Community Short BreaksThere will be a maximum of 3 providers contracted for Lot 1 and a maximum of 3 providers contracted for Lot 2.The initial contract period is 2 years; the contract is estimated to commence 1.4.2014 and expire 31.3.2016.There will be an option to extend the contract for a maximum of 2 years in 12 monthly increments, subject to satisfactory performance, business needs and agreement by both parties. Maximum contract period is 4 years.The value of the framework is 1 400 000 GBP total over the 4 year period, therefore approximately 350 000 GBP per annum.Awards
