In brief, the statutory definition of contaminated land (or 'Part IIA Land') refers to land which presents an unacceptable risk to human health and the environment. In accordance with the above legislation, Fife Council has produced its contaminated land strategy in which it details its approach to investigating potentially contaminated land in the Fife Area. This includes the prioritisation and categorisation of sites for further detailed inspection. Historically, Fife Council's contracted consultants undertook a number of Phase I desk studies and Phase II intrusive investigations per year. However, as our Inspection Programme has matured all Phase I desk studies and a number of Phase II intrusive investigations per year are undertaken by the in-house Team. This contract is to undertake a mixture of Phase 2 intrusive site investigations and risk assessments, supplementary investigations, production of generic (GQRA) and detailed quantitative (DQRA) risk assessments, as well as providing suitable interpretation of toxicological input and output data to assist Fife Council in the implementation of its contaminated land inspection strategy. The tenderer should be aware that the number and type of works undertaken will fluctuate from year to year.Awards
