This is part of its overall drive to reinforce the importance of mathematics education and the need to encourage more young people to study STEM subjects at university in England.The programme aims to increase the number of students in England studying A level and AS level Further Mathematics and16-18 mathematics more widely, and drive up participation in STEM subjects at university and college post 18.The services any successful supplier/s will be expected to deliver include working with schools and colleges, in particular teaching schools, to:- Develop and deliver a programme of support that will give universal access for students to study AS/A level Further Mathematics in schools and colleges;- Develop and deliver a CPD programme to enhance mathematics teachers' skills to teach AS/A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics;- Develop and deliver a CPD programme to prepare teachers to support students with Sixth Term Entrance Paper (STEP), Advanced Extension Award (AEA) and Mathematics Aptitude Test (MAT);In addition, the successful supplier(s) will:- Work with universities, colleges and other organisations to promote the importance of 16-18 mathematics qualifications for a wide range of further and higher education courses.Awards
