The purpose of this tender is to recruit high quality contractors onto the framework to undertake this evaluation. The aim of the programme of evaluation is to assess the impact and effectiveness of the interventions that have been put in place by the Welsh Government to achieve its vision of 'seeing the Welsh language thriving in Wales'. This will be achieved by commissioning a series of studies that will lead to an overarching evaluation of the Strategy. It is envisaged that the Client will appoint a maximum of 10 suppliers to this framework agreement. Individual call-off contracts will then be awarded for individual projects. It is envisaged that the following areas will be covered by the Framework: Welsh language transmission and use in families; Welsh language use in the community; Welsh language use by children and young people; Welsh language use in the workplace; overarching evaluation of the Welsh Language Strategy. Tenderers will be expected to provide evidence of a sound understanding of the sociolinguistic characteristics of Wales, and evidence of their capacity to comply with Government Social Research principles and good practice in all aspects of the research.
