Buying entity🇬🇧 Gloucestershire County Council Buying unitnot reported Publication date2011-09-03 Contest statusnot reported DescriptionFrom January 2012 the Authority is entering into a Mainstream, special educational needs (SEN) & / or Day Centre transport framework contract for the supply and operation of transport services that require the use of Passenger service vehicles (PSV) vehicles, community buses or smaller vehicles with 9 passenger seats or more.l.Some contracts may require the provision of specialist requirements such as low floor buses, tail lifts or smart card and ticketing infrastructure by the potential provider. Such requirements will be stated in the specification for the mini competitions to be run in respect of the particular service contract. As part of the Authority's wider transport strategy elements of registered public transport services may also be integrated into agreements let through this framework.In addition, some contracts may require the provision of an escort by the potential provider although this will be stated in the specification for the mini competitions to be run in respect of the particular service contract. Specialist transport provision may also require the driver and passenger assistant to undertake suitable training including passenger needs training.The purpose of this framework contract is to enable the Authority to identify and establish a pool of suitable potential providers for the provision of the services. The Authority will then undertake "mini competitions" when specific requirements have been identified and arrange transport contracts with the potential providers included within the framework. It must be noted that the Authority will reserve the right to award contracts for these services outside of the framework contract where it considers it appropriate to do so.It is intended that the framework contract itself will last for 4 years though the individual contracts awarded under it may exceed the length of the framework contract. The Authority intends to award the majority of its passenger transport contracts which fall into this criteria through the framework. No new suppliers may be added to the framework once it has commenced.Awards
