The successful Contractor will also be required to provide services for MMD (Shipping Services) Ltd. a Council owned Company, who provide specialist fruit and vegetable importing facilities at Portsmouth International Port. Portsmouth International Port is situated at the end of the M275 and currently occupies 17.6 hectares (44 acres). During the 2013 calendar year 2 006 747 passengers, 636 720 passenger vehicles and 219 963 freight units passed through the port. The initial contract term is for three years with the possibility of extending to a maximum total duration of five years in increments to be agreed. The Council is targeting to have awarded the contract by 22.9.2014 and it is anticipated that the contract will commence on 1.11.2014.Awards
