Defence General Munitions (Weapons Operating Centre) has under consideration a 5 year requirement (3 years firm followed by 2 option years) for the supply of the following Safety Of Life At Sea (SOLAS) accredited stores:1. Man-Overboard Marker: a marine smoke signal and light source that is automatically deployed with a lifebuoy used to aid the rescue of a person that has fallen overboard from a maritime vessel. The marker must produce a dense orange smoke for a minimum of 15 minutes and a visible light source for a minimum of 2 hours. Maximum weight: 6.6kg. Expected annual requirement: Qty 440.2. Marine Smoke Signal: a hand deployed marine smoke signal that must produce a dense orange smoke for a minimum of 3 minutes. Maximum weight: 380g. Expected annual requirement: Qty 700.3. Line Thrower: a Line Throwing Unit used for projecting a line between vessels over a distance of greater than 230m in calm weather. Maximum weight: 4.3kg. Expected annual requirement: Qty 150.4. Red Rocket Distress Flare and a white training variant: a hand fired store that must fire a Red flare, which burns with a luminosity of at least 30,000 candelas, for a minimum 40 seconds and reach a height of at least 300m. The white training variant must fire a White flare, which burns with a luminosity of at least 90,000 candelas, for a minimum 30 seconds and reach a height of at least 300m. The white training variant is not required to meet SOLAS legislation. Maximum weight for both variants: 270g. Expected annual requirement: Red: 1,500, White: 1,250.5. Red Handheld Distress Flare and a white training variant: a hand held store that must produce a Red signal with a light intensity of at least 15,000 candelas for a minimum of 60 seconds. The white training variant must produce a White signal with a light intensity of at least 2,000 candelas for a minimum of 60 seconds. The white training variant is not required to meet SOLAS legislation. Maximum weight for both variants: 160g. Expected annual requirement: Red: 350, White: 500Each of the above stores is to be supplied with a JSP 520 compliant Safety and Environmental Case Report. The stores can be delivered to MoD in trade packaging but they are required to be compatible with current MoD stowage and storage arrangements.Initial deliveries will be required in April 2015.Awards
