Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council Neighbourhoods Directorate is responsible for the management upkeep and repair of properties owned by the Council. We are looking to enter into a Term Contract to undertake the necessary building works to maintain and restore council housing when vacated by outgoing tenants and any resultant post tenancy repair works in the Borough of Sandwell on a geographical split. The Contract excludes major works of refurbishment, re-roofing, external redecoration and programmed maintenance, which are all, covered by separate agreements however the contract may include whole component replacement where appropriate. Typically work will include building and renovation operations. Trades generally required are carpenters, plumbers, bricklayers, plasterers, painters and decorators, labourers, glaziers, roofers, ground-workers, electricians and gas engineers. However, this list is not exhaustive. Properties covered by this contract are within the Borough of Sandwell and consist of municipal housing. This varies in age from thirty to one hundred and fifty years, of both traditional and system built construction and of low, medium and high rise. The properties covered by this tender include approximately 29 000 domestic dwellings and the work categories specified in this tender will supplement and support the existing Sandwell MBC directly employed workforce to achieve the target completion dates.
