UUs Statutory Drought Plan identifies 16 potential Drought Permit Order options which could be implemented during a drought There is therefore a requirement for UU to undertake Drought Environmental Monitoring to support any Environmental Assessment of UUs Drought Permit Orders and future applications This Framework will ensure United Utilities has access to sufficient technical resource to support this Drought Environmental Monitoring.Lot 4 UU has water resources models of its three main water resource zones for the purpose of completing the Water Resources Management Plan and Drought Plans as well as providing wider support to business planning and management as required eg abstraction licence what if appraisals. The Integrated Resource Zone in particular is of significant complexity compared to the vast majority of AQUATOR models, representing the largest integrated supply system in Europe.UU is underway with development of its Draft Water Resources Management Plan, for which there will be an extensive demand for water resources modelling expertise up to completion of the final plan and beyond This also includes significant rainfall runoff modelling as part of the climate change assessments sub element of the Yield Review, based on the outcomes of the latest EAUKWIR projects The outputs from rainfall runoff modelling will input to the AQUATOR model.Water resources modelling will also be required to support wider asset management decisions through the testing of supply demand options, to understand model sensitivity and define system reliability The EA are defining the National Environment Programme thus it is expected there will be extensive model development and or regional modelling to influence this process and determine the best solutions for environment and water supply.The final Drought Plan may also require additional behavioural analysis of UUs system to refine drought triggers based on updated data and or the outcomes of the consultation process.
