The Festival introduces the finest new British and international films, series and immersive art works to London and UK-wide audiences, attracts significant international industry participation which shines a spotlight on UK talent. Each year the festival shows work from over 70 countries, representing a variety of languages, genres and formal styles, with presentations ranging from intimate screenings and installations to major red carpet productions. The artistic programme is complemented by a rich range of talks and events for public and industry audiences. Opening and Closing Night Receptions The Opening and Closing Nights of the Festival are formal red carpet Gala evenings held at Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall, or a venue of similar size and scale, featuring a European or World Premiere of an international prestigious film, followed by a reception at a landmark London venue. Opening and Closing Nights are high profile media events, with an invited audience of approx. 900 - 1000 filmmakers, Industry professionals and celebrities, together with a sizable public audience. Opening and Closing Nights are key publicity drivers for the Festival and are two of the BFI's largest annual events. The Opening and Closing Night parties are exclusive social events, offering the highest level of sophistication in environment and atmosphere; as well as high quality catering and service. For clarity, this contract covers the reception element of the Opening and Closing Nights only. Production of the Red Carpet Gala Screenings are covered in a separate tender. Sponsored Gala Receptions A number of our Sponsored Headline Galas come with post-screening Receptions for c350-500 high-profile guests. These typically run from c 20:00-00:00 and include drinks, canapes, a DJ and light venue dressing. Recent venues have included Skylon, BFI Riverfront, 100 Wardour Street, Sushi Samba Covent Garden, and St Martins Lane Hotel. It is anticipated there will be 3 - 4 of these events each year. For clarity, this contract covers the reception element of the Sponsored Headline Galas only. Production of the Red Carpet Gala Screenings are covered in a separate tender.Awards
