The site is comprised of a number of plots, extending to 14.2 acres (5.75 hectares) overall. The Council owns the freehold of a significant proportion of the site with the balance owned by other public sector bodies and third party landholders. As the main landowner, the Council will be the Contracting Authority, and is looking to put appropriate provisions in place to secure the land from the other public sector bodies and to accommodate their accommodation requirements in the new development within a public sector hub. Proposed uses include residential, retail, leisure retail, offices and a new public sector hub.
