These include hard rock quarries, sand and gravel workings, opencast coal sites and a barytes mine. In addition to these sites there are also shorter-term workings operated in connection with wind farm and other renewable energy developments. Work arising under the framework would be awarded either by direct award or mini competition. Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) may give instructions to the successful consultant(s) to progress case work under the framework agreement. However, no guarantee is given to this effect. Any instructions from SNH would be administered by Forestry Commission Scotland. Lot 2 will involve producing land quality appraisal reports to help inform an ongoing land acquisitions programme totalling some 2 000-3 000 Ha per annum. To provide land quality appraisal (LQA) reports to FCS as part of FCS site assessment for new acquisitions. LQA's to report on geotechnical, environmental, and mining constraints on a given site. Report on land contamination (chemical and gas emissions) for current and previous site uses and that of the surround landscape as appropriate. LQA to advise risk of its findings to workers (staff & contractors) engaged on woodland establishment operations and recreation infrastructure creation and to visiting members of the public.Awards
