ESPO, acting on behalf of Leicester City Council is seeking to establish a framework for the provision of taxi services, mainly for vulnerable service users (adults and children) and some transportation of Council staff on business. The service will involve having responsibility for the care and well being of the vulnerable adults and children being transported, many of whom may have physical or learning disabilities. This will entail the use of suitably adapted vehicles and/or the provision of social care and health and emergency aid services provided by fully trained escorts and drivers. Both drivers and passenger assistants will be required to be CRB checked to the enhanced level. Suitable providers accepted for inclusion on the framework will then be invited to submit quotes for appropriate packages of journeys, as they become available. The framework will be divided in lots (12 in total - likely to be between 5 and 8 providers awarded per lot) according to journey type. (e.g. general travel, general travel with passenger assistant etc.) and distance - those which are within the County (including the city area) and those which are out of county. Lot description: lot 1 journeys within the County of Leicestershire (including the city) 1a general requirements and journeys for council employees on council business. 1b General requirements with passenger assistants 1c travel in manual wheelchair 1d travel in electric wheelchair 1e travel in manual wheelchair with passenger assistant 1f travel in electric wheelchair with passenger assistant. There will be 2 meetings (morning 10:30 am to 12:00 noon and afternoon 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm), to be held at PATS depot at 37/39 Sulgrave Road, Leicester LE5 0LH, UNITED KINGDOM. During these meetings we will explain further the tender procedure and take any questions you may have.
