Compressors will be of centrifugal type with gas engine drive. The new installation will be built within the premises of the existing Fluxys compressor station at Weelde. However, the new installation shall be designed as a stand alone facility. The compressor station can be controlled and monitored locally, as well as from Fluxys dispatching in Brussels. The interconnections with the existing installation and pipelines will be provided with motor operated valves, remotely controlled.Supplies & services:The total project comprises a turnkey contract for engineering, supply, construction and commissioning of a compressor station for Fluxys S.A. in Weelde (Belgium).The objective of the total project is:-- to replace an existing compressor installation consisting of three reciprocating machines by a new grass roots compressor installation within the existing premises.The scope of the project comprises as well:-- All civil engineering and civil works for the installation of the above mentioned equipment and systems (including roads pavements, fence, (pile-) foundations, utility buildings, etc.),-- Enclosure and noise abatement (building) for the compressor packages,-- Instrumentation,-- Installation of electric driven instrument air and start-up air compressors,-- Installation of complete regulator station for the supply of fuel gas to the gas engine drives,-- Installation, extension and relocation of the above and underground gas piping and addition of valves,-- Steel structures, including stairs and platforms,-- Installation of safety systems, such as gas- and fire detection, water for fire-fighting or cooling, active protection for buildings and machinery enclosures,-- Installation of electrical buildings, cabinets, apparatus, cabling and wiring,-- Installation of a control and monitoring system and setting up and building a new control room,-- Overall integration of the new installation in to the existing pipeline system,-- It must be possible to operate the plant as a stand-alone, unmanned installation. The plant will be started, stopped and monitored from the main Fluxys dispatching center in Brussels,-- The exact scope will be determined later. Regarding the fact that a basic design package is being prepared during the 3rd and 4th quarter of 2005 Fluxys SA will alter the scope and add or delete parts of it as required necessary.
