De projectsite situeert zich op de Lange Terhill en in de buurt van het Terhills Nationaal Park Visitor Center, de hoofdtoegangspoort van het Nationaal Park Hoge Kempen. Het bestek kadert binnen een Natuurproject Overeenkomst (NPO) om het gebied weer geschikt te maken voor de aanwezige populatie Gladde Slang. De uitvoering dient te gebeuren door middel van een manuele en machinale kappingen.
