Sinds de ontwikkeling van dit systeem zijn de behoeften van Westtoer gegroeid en veranderd, zowel qua data, functionaliteiten als koppelingen met andere systemen. Op basis van een behoeftenanalyse zijn er nieuwe requirements opgesteld, die de huidige functionaliteiten aanvullen of verbeteren. In het huidige systeem is het mogelijk voor verschillende gebruikersrollen om toeristische gegevens toe te voegen, te beheren, op te zoeken, af te drukken en/of te exporteren. Het gaat dan specifiek om gegevens over logiesmogelijkheden, attracties en activiteiten in (of in de buurt van) West-Vlaanderen. WIN 2.0 is meer dan een betere WIN. Met WIN 2.0 wordt in eerste instantie de nieuwe versie van de databank en het beheersysteem bedoeld, maar de scope en ambitie van dit project ligt breder. WIN 2.0 moet een sectorportaal worden waarin verschillende toepassingen, die gebruikt worden bij Westtoer, samenwerken. Deze samenwerking zal grotendeels gerealiseerd worden via de DataHub, het data-uitwisselingssysteem waarmee Westtoer beoogt de data-uitwisseling te vereenvoudigen en te uniformiseren. Het sectorportaal zal zowel informatie verstrekken als opvragen en zal een werkinstrument zijn voor de verschillende partijen die betrokken zijn bij het toerisme in West-Vlaanderen. Het sectorportaal moet ook een uitbreidbaar systeem zijn, met een solide basis, waar in de toekomst nieuwe componenten aan gekoppeld kunnen worden die samenwerken met de andere functionaliteiten van het systeem.Awards
