Verspreid over het terrein werden meerdere archeologische sporen aangetroffen. De opvallendste structuren zijn een mogelijk gebouwplattegrond met perceleringssysteem, een grote kuil vol nederzettingsafval, talrijke kleinere paalsporen en een mogelijke grafcirkel. Er is sprake van een erg grote sporendichtheid.Het vondstmateriaal wijst hoofdzakelijk in de richting van een Romeinse datering, al kan er ook een component uit de metaaltijden tussen zitten. Verder zijn er ook recente verstoringen en opgevulde subrecente perceelsgrachten. De nederzetting staat mogelijk in relatie tot de funeraire sporen die in fase 1 aan het licht komen (opgraving Lobeekstraat).Op basis van de resultaten van de prospectie werd een areaal afgebakend van 0,6 ha groot, waar verder onderzoek noodzakelijk is onder de vorm van een opgraving.De vraagstelling van het onderzoek is gericht op het begrijpen van de site in zijn totaliteit (maximale koppeling met fase 1), in het bijzonder de interne organisatie van elk sporencluster afzonderlijk, de onderlinge relatie van de onderscheiden structuren in tijd en ruimte, en de relatie tussen de onderscheiden structuren en het omgevende landschap.Awards
