Ordnung Revierwasserlaufanstalt Freiberg und ist betrieblich der Oberen Revierwasserlaufanstalt Freiberg (RWA), die hauptsachlich der Trinkwasserversorgung dient, zugeordnet.Das in der Talsperre Rauschenbach gespeicherte Wasser fliesst uber zugehorige Kunstgraben und Roschen der Revierwasserlaufanstalt Freiberg in den Dornthaler Teich. Hier erfolgen die Zwischenspeicherung und die bedarfsgerechte Abgabe in den Kunstgraben in Richtung Grosshartmannsdorf oder uber den Haselbach zur Talsperre Saidenbach.Der Dornthaler Teich ist der Talsperrenklasse 1 nach DIN 19700 Teil 11 zugeordnet.Die Stauanlage wird ausserdem zum Hochwasserschutz genutzt.Awards
