Der Neubau soll aus einer bis zu 7-geschossigen Mantelbebauung und einem Hochhaus bis zu einer Hohe von 73 m bestehen. Hierzu wurde ein Architekten-Wettbewerb durchgefuhrt. Die Verhandlungen mit den Preistragern sollen bis Ende Mai 2017 abgeschlossen sein. Planungsaufgabe des Wettbewerbsverfahrens war es, oberirdisch eine Bruttogrundflache (BGF) von 38 000 m2 zu platzieren und unter Berucksichtigung des vorgegebenen Raumprogramms mit Sondernutzungen, Technik-und Lagerflachen, dem LVR ein Maximum an Buronutzungsflachen fur mindestens 1 000 Buroarbeitsplatzezu bieten. Der gesamte Gebaudekomplex wird nach den Kriterien des "Bewertungssystem Nachhaltiges Bauen" (BNB)", Qualitatsstandard "Gold", geplant und errichtet. Als Baubeginn wird Mitte 2021 und als Fertigstellungstermin drittes Quartal 2024 angestrebt.Awards
