Neben dem unmittelbaren Bereich des Marktplatzes gehort auch der Teil der Bieberer Strasse bis zur Strasse,,Grosser Biergrund" sowie der westliche Teil der Strasse ,,Kleiner Biergrund" und das Salzgasschen zum Wettbewerbsgebiet. Neben der Freiraumgestaltung bilden die verkehrsplanerischen Belange beim Umbau des Marktplatzes einen zentralen Aufgabenbereich. Verfahrensart: Der Wettbewerb wird als nicht offener, freiraumplanerischer Realisierungswettbewerb mit vorgeschaltetem Teilnahmewettbewerb ausgelobt. Der Wettbewerbsausschuss der Architektenkammer Hessen (AKH) war bei der Vorbereitung der Auslobung beratend tatig. Der Wettbewerb ist bei der AKH unter der Nummer 22/2013 RPW2013 registriert.Awards
