Auf einer Grundflache von rund 26 000 m2 sind im Schulzentrum derzeit funf unterschiedliche Schulformen untergebracht. Ab dem Jahre 2017 sind nur noch 2 Schulformen im Schulzentrum vertreten. In diesem Zusammenhang soll durch eine grundlegende stadtebauliche Neuausrichtung das heutige Schulzentrum fur die Burgerinnen und Burger geoffnet werden. Im Gebaude der Gemeinschaftsschule soll ein zentrales Burgerbegegnungszentrum entstehen, welches fur Veranstaltungen im Bereich Kultur und Heimatwesen uber 300 Besuchern Platz bieten soll. Hierfur bedarf es einiger Umstrukturierungen innerhalb des Gebaudes. Es mussen unter anderem zusatzliche Raumlichkeiten geschaffen und die offentlich zuganglichen Bereiche barrierefrei erschlossen werden.Awards
