Die bisherige Nutzung umfasst Forschung und Lehre verschiedener geowissenschaftlicher Professuren. Neben den derzeit im Gebaude untergebrachten Labor-, Buro-, Werkstatt- und Horsaalflachen sollen weitere Laborflachen im sanierten Gebaude untergebracht werden. Das Bestandsgebaude aus dem Jahre 1963 umfasst eine Flache von ca. 5 400 m2 BGF, welche sich auf 2 Untergeschosse, ein Erdgeschoss, 2 Obergeschosse und ein Dachgeschoss verteilt. Aufgrund der Nutzeranforderungen werden im Rahmen der Sanierung das Dachgeschoss, ein Obergeschoss und ein Treppenhaus abgebrochen. Im Nachgang werden 3 Obergeschosse als Stahlkonstruktion aufgestockt (in Summe ein zusatzliches Geschoss im Vergleich zum Bestand) und ein ausserhalb des Gebaudes angeordneter Treppenturm in Stahlbeton realisiert. Desweiteren wird im 2. Untergeschoss eine Zwischendecke eingezogenund ein drittes Untergeschoss geschaffen. Die Flacheneinteilung nach Nutzungen fur das Projekt ist ca. wie folgt: 50 % Labore/Werkstatten, 25 % Buro- und Besprechungsraume, 15 % Horsale/Seminarraume und 10 % Lager.Awards
