Das Gebaude besteht aus vielen, verschiedenen Bauteilen, die zusammen eine Grundflache von ca. 7 000 m2 betragen. Die einzelnen Bauteile sind haufig wabenformig und in unterschiedlichen Hohen angeordnet. Die Bauweise besteht aus einer Mischkonstruktion aus Stahlbeton, Stahltrager- und Stutzen und massiven Bauteilen. Die Sanierung besteht im Wesentlichen aus der Dacherneuerung, Beseitigung von Wasserschaden und der Erneuerung der Fassade. Inhalt dieser Ausschreibung sind die Trockenbauarbeiten im Bereich der Decken bzw. Wande. Aus Denkmalgrunden sind die Akustikdecken in den Klassenraumen und Gruppenhallen produktbezogen ausgeschrieben und es durfen keine anderen Produkte eingebaut werden. Bei der Sanierung wird besonderer Wert auf die Denkmalpflege gelegt.
