Aufgrund ihrer spektakularen Konstruktionsweise hatte die Stadt Mannheim sich nach Ende der Bundesgartenschau fur den Erhalt der Halle entschieden. Sie ist die bis heute grosste freitragende Holzgitterschalenkonstruktion der Welt und wurde wegen ihrer architektonischen Einmaligkeit und filigranen Konstruktion 1998 als Kulturdenkmal erfasst. Die maximale Spannweite des Tragwerks betragt ca. 60 m bei einer Hohe von ca. 20 m. Insgesamt uberdeckt die Konstruktion eine Flache von ca. 7 400 m2. Das Bauwerk befindet sich weitestgehend noch im Originalzustand. Altersbedingt ist eine umfangreiche Sanierungsmassnahme der Tragkonstruktion und der Dachhaut zwingend erforderlich geworden. Nach erfolgtem VOF-Verfahren und Beauftragung des wirtschaftlichsten Angebotes ist durch den Auftragnehmer zunachst eine pruffahige Genehmigungsstatik zu erstellen auf Basis einer intensiven Voruntersuchung und Begutachtung der Multihalle. Notwendige Verstarkungsmassnahmen und Detailanpassungen mussen geplant werden. Die Planungsergebnisse sowie eine Kostenermittlung auf Grundlage von Leistungsverzeichnissen fur die Sanierung der Multihalle wird dem Gemeinderat zum Beschluss der Durchfuhrung der Generalsanierung vorgelegt werden.Awards
