Es nimmt ein Gesamtareal von etwa 142 Quadratkilometern ein und wurde im Jahr 2000 in die Liste des Welterbes der Vereinten Nationen (UNESCO) eingetragen. Ein wesentlicher Schwerpunkt des im Dezember 2018 erstellten Masterplans sieht die nachhaltige Aufwertung des Kernbereichs der Worlitzer Anlagen vor. Die Zielsetzung der Aufwertung soll durch die Schaffung eines Ausstellungszentrums im Haus der Furstin und durch eine Wiedereroffnung des neugotischen Marstalls als restauriertes Schauobjekt und schliesslich durch das Gelbe Haus als Welterbezentrum realisiert werden. Vorrangigste Aufgabe des Welterbezentrum stellt die Prasentation des UNESCOWelterbes Gartenreich Dessau-Worlitz und der WelterbeRegion Luther I Bauhaus I Gartenreich sowie die Optimierung des Informationsangebotes fur Besuche dar.Awards
