Bauabschnitt des Fraunhofer IZI wird im sudostlich der Leipziger Innenstadt gelegenen Gebiet der alten Messe in unmittelbarer Nahe zu den 2 bestehenden Gebaudeteilen des Instituts errichtet. Das Baugrundstuck wird im Nordwesten durch die ,,BIOCITY", im Nordosten durch das Gebaude ,,BioCube", im Westen und Suden durch die bestehenden Bauabschnitte des IZI, sowie im Sudosten durch die Perlickstrasse begrenzt. Das Raumprogramm des 3. Bauabschnitts umfasst auf ca. 3 035 m2 Nutzflache S2-Laborraume, S3-Laborraume, GMP-Laborraume, einen Prototype-Assembly Bereich, Buroraume und Lagerraume. Das Gebaude ist als Stahlbeton-Massivbau mit Flachdecken konzipiert.Die Flachen verteilen sich auf die unterschiedlichen Nutzungsarten wie folgt:NF 1/64 m2NF 2/863 m2NF 3/1 579 m2NF 4/480 m2NF 5/49 m2Gesamt/3 035 m2.Awards
