Zur Erhaltung einer dauerhaft dichten Grasnarbe bei guter Bodenverdichtung soll mit Verweis auf SS 58 Abs. 1 S. 4 ThurWG die Deichpflege grundsatzlich durch das flachenbezogen vertragliche Weiden von Schafen erfolgen. Unter Berucksichtigung des Erhalts einer gleichmassigen Grasnarbe und der Beseitigung von Weidetieren verschmahter Arten (u. a. Ampfer, Brennnessel, Acker-Kratzdistel) bzw. der Verhinderung deren Aussamens erfolgt zugleich eine kombinierte Mahd der Deichflachen. Daruber hinaus erfolgt eine Deichmahd auf Abschnitten welche fur die Hutung als ungeeignet eingestuft werden. Hierzu gehoren u. a. Abschnitte mit in Deichanlagen integrierten Radwegen.Awards
