These workstations generally host a number of high end computer graphic and processor intensive software packages, examples of which would include: 3D and 2D Animation packages (3D Studio Max; Maya; Annimo; Flash); graphic design packages (AutoCAD; Photoshop; Illustrator); digital editing packages (Premiere Pro; Sound Forge; Avid Express). These workstations are also used for mathematical modelling (MathLab; Mathematica) and computer programming.Some of these high end workstation labs now require replacement as part of IADT's ICT replacement policy.Also as part of this replacement policy a number server computers now also require replacement. These server computers are all based around Microsoft's Server 2008 R2 64 bit operating system and HyperV.Awards
