Specifications for primary total knee replacment surgery. The primary TKR system must be versatile to allow replacements of both uncomplicated and more complex degenerate knees. It has to be modular to deal with bone defects so that both femoral augments and tibial wedges and femoral / tibial stems should be part system. It must provide a range of femoral, tibial and patella implant sizes. Patellar tracking has to be efficient to avoid damage to the quadriceps mechanism. The system must provide both cruciate retaining and cruciate sacrifcing prothesis. The instrumentation has to be simple to use and accurate. The polyethylene inserts have to be proven to be hard wearing and to be gamma ray sterilised in vacuum. The system must be backed by a proven documented evidence of successful implantation and long time survival. It must conform to European standards and bear CE markings. The tenderer/supplier must provide educational material and surgical instruction by suitably qualified surgeons locally and updating in the practice of primary knee replacement surgery. 1. Two complete sets of instrumentation must be provided free of charge. 2. A stock of implants is to be initially delivered and further "top up" consignments are to be effected within a maximum time limit of two days. Item 2. Specifications for revision knee surgery for failed primary TKR. The femoral and tibial implants have to be modular to allow use of augments, wedges and stems. It must provide a range of femoral, tibial and patella implant sizes. It must have an easy to use and accurate jig system with full instrumentation. The instrument set must be completely autoclavable. The manufacturers have to provide a customised service should this be required. The polyethylene used must be hard wearing and preferably be gamma ray sterilised in vacuum. The system must be backed by a proven documented evidence of successful implementation and long time survival. It must conform to European standards and bear CE marking. The tenderer/supplier must provide educational material and surgical instruction locally but suitably qualified personnel/updating in the practice of revision knee surgery. 1. A complete set of instrumentation must be provided. 2. An initial stock of implants is to be delivered and further "top up" are to be effected within a maximum time limit of one week.Adjudicaciones
