The Awarding Authority's accounts and administration have from the start-up in 1948 been audited by the Auditor General of Norway, but the Norwegian Parliament has decided that the Awarding Authority's accounts shall, from and including the fiscal year 2012, be audited by an external auditor. The Auditor General of Norway will continue to audit the Awarding Authority's administration. The amendment of a law will come into force from 1.1.2012 and it is expected that the Awarding Authority will present the proposal for a new auditor to the owner of the company. It is the owner of the company who will make the final decision. The Ministry of Culture takes into account that the auditor assignment also shall include a special inspection making sure that the Awarding Authority's commercial subsidiary companies act in accordance with ordinary commercial principles. The assignment also involves preparation of an annual report regarding these conditions.Awards
