Direktoratet for naturforvaltning (DN) har i oppdrag a gjennomfore en naturfaglig evaluering av arealer vernet etter naturvernloven i Norge. Evalueringsprosjektet skal innledes med et forprosjekt av 2-3 maneders varighet, der opplegget for selve evalueringen skal beskrives i detalj.Folgende hovedsporsmal skal besvares gjennom evalueringen:1. Har vi i eksisterende verneomrader sikret variasjonsbredden i norsk natur?2. Fanger vernede omrader opp alle viktige naturtyper?3. Har vi i eksisterende verneomrader i tilstrekkelig grad sikret leveomrader for truede og sarbare dyre- og plantearter inkludert arter fredet etter naturvernloven?4. Har Norge oppfylt sine internasjonale forpliktelser nar det gjelder omradevern?Evalueringen skal pa bakgrunn av svarene i punkt 1-4 vurdere behovet for a supplere det landsdekkende nettet av verneomrader, og foresla hvordan en slik supplering eventuelt bor innrettes faglig, herunder hvilke faglige kriterier og prioriteringer som bor legges til grunn for et videre arbeid.Awards
