Die im Jahre 1975 erstellte Schule wurde fur 480 Schulerinnen und Schuler in 24 Klassen gebaut. Heute besuchen rund 640 Mittelschulerinnen und Mittelschuler in 33 Klassen die Lehrgange Gymnasium, Wirtschaftsmittelschule und Fachmittelschule. Bauzustand und Raumangebot der Kantonsschule entsprechen nicht mehr den heutigen Anforderungen. Fur einen zeitgemassen Unterricht fehlen Schul-, Vorbereitungs- und Gruppenraume. Auch zentrale Einrichtungen wie Mensa und Aula sind zu klein und Schulerarbeitsplatze sind nur in ungenugender Anzahl vorhanden. Der Hauptbau und die Eingangshalle werden neu erstellt, der Westtrakt sowie die Turnhallen saniert.Awards
